No pretty pictures today I'm afraid! (Boo hiss)
I have been working and trying to sort out the logistics of eating/water/clothes and river crossings and find that we are going to need the following help to more easily get through this epic challenge.
I shall be asking firstly the DTS Team after all, it is our challenge even if it's only me running now. So in route order here we go and I hope that some of you can help us out or I think I may go insane!
Exmouth - Ferry to Starcross, nice and easy, time to talk to radio/newspapers etc.
Starcross to Teignmouth - We require some cycle support as there is a lot of road on this section and I don't want to get run over!
Teignmouth - We will need to get across the ferry or have a boat handy for the 3 of us.
Shaldon to Torquay - all ok on this section no requests.
Torquay to Brixham - Cycle support again would be great, just to keep up morale :)
Brixham - We will need to top up camelbaks, eat bananas etc and Debbie changes into trail shoes so a van or car here to help us out would be great, with water, food and my trail shoes.
Brixham to Kingswear - say no more!
Kingswear - Ferry to Dartmouth - support here at the ferry would be good even just for a change of socks and some food (pref pasties all round)
Dartmouth to Stoke Flemming/Strete - all ok, at Strete change into night-time running gear, top up water again if necessary, eat again and install night-time lighting about our persons :)
Strete-Torcross - Cycle support for any night-time cyclists if possible?
Torcross to East Portlemouth - all ok here until we get to east Portlemouth and the ferry will not be running :( we will need to get a lift round to Salcombe for the 3 of us, so any insomniacs out there maybe you could lend a hand? It will be at about approx. 3.30-4am on the Sunday morning! Eeeeeek!
At around Hope Cove we will need food, and change into day running gear again and a top up of water for our camelbaks, anyone with a car/van here would be great please?
Noss Mayo to Newton Ferrers, again we will need a car at this point to take us around so we can then get on the ferry from Newton Ferrers.
We may also need a lift from Bantham to Bigbury depending on the tide.
The last 10 miles - Wembury Beach to the finish Michelle Blackmore will be running with us keeping up the humour, and the last 3 miles Amy will provide yet more humour to keep us going to the end.
Plymouth Hoe is our finish and as many of you that can be there to support us and cheer us in would be amazing.
Oh, and can someone please take our weary bodies back to Totnes afterwards straight to The Bay Horse? Just kidding, we'll need a shower first!
There you go, epic list of wants/needs I really hope that we can get this sorted?
TTFN, running tomorrow :)
